Photographer's Statement:

Part of this year’s theme, Healthy Tree, Healthy Me, is the fact that trees help make products for people. But they don’t just make products; they get a second life. Some trees get made into instruments, like the violin. They can then be used to express feelings and emotions, they can calm nerves, and they can make one feel free. When I play the violin I am free and I am soaring above everything. I love music and the violin just helps me express that feeling even without words. I may not be able to say how I am feeling, but I can show it through music. While a tree has to be cut down to make the violin, it gives it a second life where it can bring happiness and make a difference in people’s lives.
