You gave us your best shot!

To celebrate Arbor Day, each year the Idaho Forest Products Commission sponsors the Look to the Forest Photo Contest. Idaho 5th-12th grade students from throughout the state submitted their photos, captions and photographers’ statements. First place winners and honorable mentions were named in four grade level divisions: 5-6th, 7-8th, 9-10th and 11-12th.

Small Movements

Photographer's Statement:

When I used to look at the forest, I used to see big trees and bushes, all a dull shade of green. While capturing a variety of photos,  I noticed how I would often zoom in. When I focus on one small part of the woods, I would notice all of the small things about it. Like the bee in this picture, the forest is full of small organisms– all working together to create one big whole.
