Before I begin, I would like to acknowledge that I submitted another entry of the same name. This is because I didn’t change the file’s name to my name. My school does not allow students on files anymore due to problems bypassing blocked websites last year, so I had to email this to my teacher and have her change the name and email it back to me. My last name is spelled “Schank”, though she accidentally spelled it “Shank”. Anyway, I think this image, “Evergreen Leaves”, represents the theme “Seasons of Change: The Dynamics of Idaho’s Forests” because Evergreens stay green throughout even the coldest, hardest parts of winter. This can be used as a metaphor for staying strong in the hard parts and hard changes of life. I am sure that many other entries will show majestic trees towering above the landscape in a beautiful scene, or a small sapling just poking out of the grass, but I want to represent what has not been represented: an average, everyday tree, persavering through hardships. That is why I submitted this image.
